Today Was A Good Shopping Day ...

Here are my most recent purchases and I just bloody love them!

If you have read my current 3 must haves then you will have seen this 'BOOM' top from New Look, Unfortunately the store in which I was in didn't have the grey version but I like the top that much I decided to go for the black one. It was only £7.99 and I am in love with it, you can get the t-shirt in black, pink and grey.

I purchased 2 of the Herbal Essences Miricle Shine hair masks from my local pound shop. I bought one last week and thought it is brilliant so I decided to stock up and get two more ... You can never have enough bargains.

Now on to make up, I was very proud of myself that I only bought three things from Boots as usually there is no stopping me but apparently my will power was on top form today. My first purchase from there was the Maybelline Superstay 14 hour lipstick in Infinitely Fuchsia for £6.99.

My other two buys were excellently found in the sale section and after much rummaging I picked up the Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick in Sweetie for just £2.50 and is the nost gorgeous bright pink with blue undertones and the other purchase was a Collection Dazzle Me pigment in Stonewash, it looks like a greyey lilac colour but is pretty transparent with lots of glitter which is always good. The pigement essentially cost me nothing as Boots have a 3 for 2 on most cosmetics at the moment. I am not sure how much use I will have out of it but I couldn't leave it there.

If you would like more info or a review on any of the things mentioned (I am guessing you won't want one of the t-shirt but hey whatever floats your boat, it can be done if you so wish) just let me know in the comments and I shall get that uploaded for you =D

What have your most recent purchases been?

Someday My Prince Will Come ...

LIES, IT'S ALL LIES DISNEY!!!

As a nearly 24 year old woman it is fair to say I grew up obsessively watching Disney films and being sucked in to the illusion that your Prince just happens to turn up out of the blue, sweep you off your feet and after about a week of being together you get married and live ... wait for it ... HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

This i now know to be complete and utter rubbish!

I now need to come clean and tell you my real name is actually Jazmine which, yes you guessed it spurred many a child on the playground to shout things like 'Where's Aladdin' and 'Where's your carpet' to which I would not respond. Even at the age of 6 I knew people like that, well I could not tolerate.

Although I do refer to myself as Princess Jazmine, I am now fully aware that my prince is going to be a lot harder to find than I thought. Funnily enough I found the below picture on Google before typing up this post and I thought it was rather fitting for the types of men that are currently in my life.

I suppose by now you are probably wondering what this post is for and if it actually has a point. Well yes, yes it does! I have, for the past 2 days been sitting here absolutely baffled and trying to get my head to figure out why a certain male in my life is acting the way he is.

CUE THE BACKGROUND STORY

At the age of 15, 16 and 17 most of my time was spent lusting after THE most gorgeous boy I had ever seen. I was besotted by him. We became best friends and spent most evenings hanging out in our group of friends and we just clicked. Flirting would go on but no way did I think he liked me as he did start seeing two of my friends. On different occasions just to clarify. Something happened which resulted in him completely distancing himself away from me and then we lost touch as he was in the army and at this point and I had started working abroad.

FAST FORWARD TO PRESENT DAY

To my surprise, about 3/4 years after speaking to him last, he sent me a message on Facebook. We started chatting last Sunday and exchanged numbers and text ALL the time. On Tuesday I ended up seeing him and he told me that when we were younger he liked me and didn't realise I liked him to which I corrected him by saying ... 'I WAS PRACTICALLY IN LOVE WITH YOU, HOW DID YOU NOT KNOW?!'. After seeing him, we were texting all Tuesday night and he said he still liked me and couldn't wait to see me again ... RESULT! Up until Saturday we hadn't actually stopped texting and calling each other. Sunday however was a different story, I woke up to the usual text and after a couple of messages going back and forth he didn't reply and ... well ... I STILL haven't heard anything.

Can someone out there please give me any indication as to what on EARTH is his logic in this one. You cannot simply tell someone you like them, that you can't wait to see them next and that you want to take them on a date if your next intention is to completely ignore them ... This makes no sense!

I am fully aware that my love life has never been a simple one, there is usually some drama involved in any boy/man situation I am in ... but for once I thought this was going to be pretty straight forward ... he liked me, I liked him, he still likes me, I still like him ... I mean you work it out ... it's pretty straight forward!!!

To conclude ... If you are still under the illusion that love is a simple thing and like a Disney film where you get married, live in a castle happily ever after ... you my friend are mistaken! Love is  complicated and well just an effort!

I hope you managed to find some form of enjoyment out of my, what can only be described as, misfortune!

Have A Break, Have A KitKat ...

Yes unfortunately that was the wittiest thing I could come up with for the title of this post. What we can take away from that ... I will definitely NOT be the funniest person you have come across.

Anyhoo, moving on to what exactly this post is about. Liz who writes Aspirations Of Glam has really got my little brain ticking recently. A lot of bloggers and YouTubers take breaks from time to time and whenever they write a new post or film a new video on their return you find them 90% of the time apologising for their time away.

Personally I think we all need time away from blogging, tweeting, instagramming and such like. I think with all the social networking sites we operate these days, we spend far too much time staring into the depths of our phones/laptops and it can't be good for us!

With my health and general life happenings I am not always in the right frame of mind to blog or tweet but I know when I am, I will be blogging about something I feel strongly about and will produce something I am proud to publish and not something I am posting because I feel the need to.

It's ok for us all to have a life next to this crazy blogging world and for us to take some time off once in a while. It's ok for us to be sick or to have a party to go to or go on holiday or just generally take a break 'cause you know what, we all need to keep sane!

Go on try it ... Have a break ... You never know it might do you some good!

My Skin Miracle ...

As you may know, a couple of weeks ago I was complaining about the state of my skin as it was dry and blotchy and my Revlon Colorstay was clinging to the dry patches and just looked ridiculous. I purchased this moisturiser for £2.99 from Superdrug and the reason I was drawn to it is that it was for teenage skin and I was having a major breakout and my chin looked like it had just been ripped out of a dot to dot book!

I have used this both morning and night and I have one word about this moisturiser ... AMAZING! It has cleared up my blemishes and kept my skin super smooth. What I love about it is that it sinks into the skin super fast and gets to work straight away.

The product claims you will see results from the first day and you really can. Instantly my skin felt hydrated and in much better condition. Also the redness of my spots had gone down and my t-zone was less oily.

2 weeks later and my skin feels amazing, I haven't developed any spots and the particularly oily parts of my face I had previously have disappeared.

It is such a good product and at a ridiculously cheap £2.99 it is definitely worth trying.

What are your favourite high street/ drug store moisturisers?

My Make Up Storage Dilemma ...

With so many different brands and products in the make-up world our collections seem to be getting bigger and bigger and how we store/organise our make up can be a massive issue as we need it to be easily accessible and we need to find things quickly. At the moment I am HATING the way my make up is kept and I am currently scouring Pinterest for some vanity/desk/make up organisation ideas.

I don't know whether to go for the 9 drawer Alex drawer from Ikea or to invest in some of the Muji drawers   ... It is a tough decision to make.

At the moment I have my make up stored in two drawers and is seperated by old She Said Beauty boxes and plastic containers.

In the first drawer I have the things I go to first. In box 1 I have my primers and fixing sprays, in box 2 I have my foundations, concealors and powders. Box 3 contains my blushes, bronzers and highlighters. Box 4 has all of my single eyeshadows and all around these I have my eyeshadow palettes.

The second drawer is more disorganised I feel. In Box 1 I have eyeliners, mascaras and eyebrow pencils Box 2 has all of my eyelashes and tools such as eyelash curlers, sharpeners etc. Box 3 has all of my lip products. The 2 boxes on the right have surplus products and also products that I am not using at the moment.

My brushes are kept in this DIY brush holder which I like but I am wanting to improve it somehow, this sits on top of an old She Said Beauty box which holds all of my samples of various products.

Overall I think my make up isn't organised the best way it could be .. How do you organise/store yours? Do you have a certain way you just have to have it?

My Top 3 Must Haves Of The Moment ...

Like most people my wishlist is ever growing and I very rarely actually purchase what is on there as new things are always being added and some things I forget about. There are however, sometimes those products which make you restless and are forever in your brain until you buy it. My top 3 must haves of the moment are examples of just that and I shall not rest until I buy them!!!

River Island Double Gusset Tote Bag

If you have read my 'What's in my handbag' post then you will know I have been searching high and low for a new handbag to replace the one featured in that post. Doing some browsing on the internet I came across this bag from River Island for £35 and knew this was the one! It has a zip compartment on either side and a press stud compartment in the middle. It come in Pink, Blue, Black and this gorgeous beige colour with the gold studs. I will be getting the beige version as the colour will suit most outfits and the studs give it that modern, on trend look.

New Look 'Boom' Tshirt

Again during my browsing session on the internet, I saw this tshirt from New Look at a bargainous price of £7.99. I am a massive fan of slogan tshirts as I think they are a little more interesting than just a plain tee. I like the tshirts that you find EVERYWHERE that say 'Geek' and 'Dork' for example, but I find them to be just a little too common now. As 'Boom' used to be one of my catchphrases, as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it.

Apple Macbook Pro Retina 15"

Now I am pretty confident when I say that Apple computers/laptops are THE computers to have. They perform uber quick and are so simple to use. I have been trying to decide whether I can justify parting with the amount of money they are for a computer for some time now. I have FINALLY come to the decision that they are definitely worth the money and investment. After months of trying to decide if the IMac or the Macbook is what I am going to go for ... I STILL haven't made up my mind. I am not going to get one or the other until I am completely 100% sure on which one I want to get as I don't want to spend that much money on something I am not completely satisfied with.

There you have it my top 3 must have items I will be purchasing soon ... what are yours? Have you made any recent purchases that you have been lusting after for a while?

Independant Woman ...

At the age of 24 I still haven't passed my driving test and been let loose on the road for 4 years I was working abroad and therefore not actively learning to drive. I always put off taking my test as I was scared I would fail. Years later I have decided to take the plunge and get back behind the wheel.

This is due to the fact I have bought my very first car! I so far have spent around 10 hours in total driving around with my friend and I love it! I am raring to take my test! I just need to get with an instructor to go over the manouvers and i'll be good to go.

I thought I would find getting behind the wheel again a daunting task but I have actually settled back in very well and so far so good.

There is one thing that I need your help with ... naming the car!

I want a relatively amusing name for it but there's not a lot that you can choose from when you have a Hyundai Getz! Preferably I want the car to begin with a G but I can do a H if necessary.

Just pop your suggestions in the comments box and hopefully I can  get some inspiration from your suggestions.

How long did it take you to pass your test? Are you still learning? Or have you never wanted to learn? Tell me your best/worst driving experiences!!

The Biggest Uproar Since Blogging Took Off ...

It is only 2:15pm and already my Twitter has been flooded with panic/uproar with regards to the fact the Google have annouced the will be taking away Google Reader from us on July 1st.

For those of you unsure as to what on earth that is, it is basically connected to Google Friend Connect. When you read a blog you like and in effect 'subscribe' to that blog 9 times out of 10 you will click the 'Join This Site' button and that blog will then appear on your Blogger reading list.

So what happens when Google Reader is no more? Simple ... You will find that the majority of bloggers also use Bloglovin or Hellocotton for readers to subscribe to their blogs too. This means that you can still keep up to date with your favourite blogs and all its content.

You will find a little link ==============>
just there on most blogs which will take you to sites like Bloglovin and Hellocotton where you can subscribe immediately without having to search for it on the websites. (Us bloggers really do make life easy for you ... promise!)

Now as I am probably one of the few that are happy with this change I have decided that I am going to remove my GFC button on my blog and just have my Bloglovin button from today. Although there are a good few months yet until Google Reader is going, I thought I would make the process as simple as possible when the time comes!

So where else can you find me?

Twitter: Jazzabelled
Instagram: Jazzabelled
Email: Jazzabelledesigns@gmail.co.uk
Tumblr: jazzabelled.tumblr.com

Bloglovin: http://www.bloglovin.com/jazzabelle

So if you are one of my twitter friends panicking or you are worried about the process in general, don't be! It couldn't be easier!!

I hope you are having a fab day!!

Operation Save My Skin Round 1 ...

Usually my skin is pretty kind to me, I would say I have normal/dry skin and rarely get blemishes. Well not anymore! I don't know whether it is the change in temperatures or my change in diet and all of the green tea/water I have been drinking is bringing all the yuckyness to the surface but at the moment I have hideously teenage like skin!

My everyday foundation is the Revlon Colorstay and in all honesty if I could marry it ... I probably would! During the past week or so I have noticed that it hasn't given me as much coverage as usual and it is going patchy (due to my skin being super dry as well) which tends to end up looking cakey by the end of the day.

So today I went on a quest to see if I could find anything which could help save my skin and which would be lighter than the usually heavy duty Colorstay. Now with being in between jobs at the moment money is REEEEEEEEEEALLY tight so I went out with a £20 budget and wanted to get some skin helping make up!

I lusted after the Borjois 123 foundation for about 10 minutes but then decided that as I could get more for less from the Miss Sporty range I decided to give them a whirl.

Here are my findings. I bought the So Matte Perfect Stay foundation which claims to last up to 14 hours, so we shall see. I also purchased the Liquid Concealer and the So Clear transparent powder. As I was still well within my £20 budget I figured I would try out a moisturiser aimed at more teenage like skin and I discovered a new product which is the Simply Pure Spot Clearing Moisturising Cream from Superdrug.

I am really looking forward to trying out these products and I might even give them a go tonight when I meet a friend!

If you are wondering how my budget was spent then fear not as I shall let you know :

So Matte foundation £3.49
Liquid Concealer £2.99
So Clear Powder £2.99
Moisturiser £2.99

Grand Total : £12.46

If you would like a first impressions/review on these just let me know in the comments and i'll be sure to get that done for you =D

Endometriosis Awareness Month #3 - My Personal Experience ...

This is my third and final post in my Endometriosis Awareness series and this is the one that I have been most scared about writing. I am going to share with you my personal experience and how this condition affects me and my daily life.

I apologise if this is a bit of a long post, I shall try to keep it to the point and try not to ramble as much as I anticipate!

I have always had really heavy and painful periods since I started at the age of 11, so painful they usually result in me sleeping on the bathroom floor due to the fact I throw up continuously and pass out ... hardly the most exciting times of my life and 13 years on it's now getting a little boring!

During these 13 years I have been backwards and forwards to the doctors/nurses/clinic but no one has given me the medical attention I actually need. I have been given every contraceptive pill going and none have helped or got rid of the pain.

I did request to have the Marina coil but because of some weird gynocological reason I can't have it.

Early January 2012 I started waking up feeling nauseas around 4/5 days a week and the nausea didn't really settle until late afternoon. Along side this I started feeling pain in my lower abdomen which would last throughout most of the day. As time passed the pain and nausea got worse and now every single day I was in pain and feeling ridiculously sick. I saw several doctors and each and every one told me nothing was wrong and that it was viral and would pass soon.

This was until we had a new doctor at the surgery who has been FANTASTIC and she investigated my symptoms properly and after blood test after blood test and prodding and routing around I was referred to a gynocologist where it transpires Endometriosis has been the cause of all of this!

I have recently started some hormone tablets which, in all honesty, aren't going down too well. The pain and nausea are much worse than before and on top of that I have to battle with major paranoia and a massive feeling of lonliness. These are unfortunately the feelings that can come along with Endemetriosis but for some reason, are now amplified by a million!

My working life has also taken a massive hit also. Several periods of long term absensess have resulted in me having to leave before they have got rid of me. THANKFULLY I have found a job which is perfect for me and I will be in the office for 2/3 days in the week and the other 2/3 I will be working from home. The other plus is that it is not customer facing so if I am rolling around in pain, I don't have to face any of our customers. Another bonus is that it is in the travel industry which is where my heart lies and where I have had most of my working experience. I start on Monday and I cannot be more excited for this.

I am so enthusiastic about my blogging and I love the fact that I am blogging about my life and everything in it, as well as joining in the best community on the internet, it is such a good release for me to share things I maybe wouldn't with my family and friends. Sometimes my blogging does need to take a back seat as on those days I could be feeling really down/low or in too much pain. This weekend has been the perfect example of this. I have had so many posts I have wanted to post and this one even was meant to be posted on Friday but I just haven't been up to it.

If there are a few days where I don't upload any posts, please, please, please don't think I am abandoning you, unfortunately it does just mean the Endometriosis is taking over more than I would like. On these occasions you can find me tweeting and I would love it if you guys would tweet me. Like I said lonliness is a major part of my experience and even one tweet from you guys keeps me going and means the absolute world to me!

Sorry for such the long post, there is SO much more I would have love to have shared with you but I feel this post is long enough. If you have enjoyed this post or even if you would like to ask me anything about my experience, please leave me a comment below.

Bright Pink Lips ...

This week I have been lucky enough to have a guest post published on the lovely Maria's blog which you can find HEREEEEE =D. Maria's blog is gorgeous and she always writes lovely posts about all things beauty and skincare related. If it is reviews, tutorials or even inspiration of top things to buy Maria Sparkle really does have it all! So for those of you that don't follow her blog (WHY NOT?!) I thought I would share with you the post here too!!

As an extreme girly girl, pink is without a doubt my favourite colour and 90% of the time this is reflected in the colour I wear on my lips. I have noticed recently that more and more people are wearing pink lips in the blogging world and also on YouTube. I thought as it is becoming an increasingly popular trend, I would share with you my top 4 current pink lips products.

L-R : YSL Rouge Pur Couture (Shade 49), 17 Lasting Fix Lipstick (Pink Power), Rimmel London Apocalips (Apocaliptic), Primark Lip Stain Pen (No Shade)

YSL Rouge Pur Couture

I have had this YSL lipstick for a good couple of years now and I always come back to it as I love the colour. It is a pink colour with purple undertones. I love the creamy formula of the lipstick and it applies really well. It also lasts ages and I usually get a good 3 hours from it before it needs a touch up. I bought this from a shop called Charlie's in Lanzarote for 15 Euros but here in the UK they retail for around £23.

17 Lasting Fix Lipstick

17 is a brand I rarely buy from but I have been encouraged to try more things by this lipstick. I own another Lasting Fix Lipstick in Shell and it has been a trusty favourite of mine for a while, usually for nights out. I was on a hunt for a bright pink lipstick on a recent shopping trip and came across this one in Boots. I am in love with the colour as it isn't too dark and it has just the right amount of pink. The lipstick stays on very well and lasts a good few hours and a little of the colour remains even after eating. At around £4.99 it is so worth it and like I said it has urged me to try other products in the 17 range.

Rimmel London Apocalips

This has also been a recent purchase and I am sitting on the fence as to whether I am a fan of this or not. There has been loads of hype over these in blogs and on YouTube of late and I am not 100% sold. I love the smell of them first of all they smell almost fruity. For a highly pigmented gloss the colour pay off is amazing however I find they are messy. Sometimes the colour can get on my teeth and they never dry being a gloss so I feel I am constantly checking my face for bright pink spots all over my face. They retail at £5.99 and although I am on the fence I would say they are worth a purchase.

Primark Lip Stain Pen

Finally a disappointing packaging design for an all round good product. This Lip Stain Pen I picked up from Primark for an unbelievable £1.50. I thought I would give it a go seeing as I wasn't wasting too much if I didn't like it. So I got home, took the lid off and it exploded EVERYWHERE (You may even be able to see on the picture of it that even when taking the lid off it leaked a bit). This wasted a lot of the actual stain so now I probably have two thirds of the actual product left which wasn't a brilliant start. The colour however I do like and although it doesn't have great longevity, for the price you can afford to reapply more than you would a higher end similar product. A good product but one that reminds me of one of those fountain pens you had at school ... forever leaking!

So there we have it, my round up of my current 4 fave lip products!!

What are yours? Let me know in the comments below!!

Geeky Releases I Am Looking Forward To In 2013...

Underneath my pink, sparkly, girly, make upped exterior sits one MASSIVE geek! I am pretty sure that housed in each and every one of us is a raging geek itching to come out.

2013 is proving to be an amazing year for our inner geeks and I think, even for this year alone, we should let our inner geek flags fly!

With so many major releases this year in the gaming, movie and technology worlds, I thought I would share with you the ones I am most excited about.

Film

Ironman 3 - The Ironman trailer has been one of the most awaited in a long time and now it seems no one can contain their excitement as the release date gets closer and closer. Ironman 3 is, as it would appear, the third in the Ironman series and if 1 and 2 are anything to go by it will be AMAZING!

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For - With it's amazing cinematography the original Sin City film was a breakthrough in the way films are made and the announcement of a second film well just excites me far too much! The Film will be based on Frank Miller's book 'A Dame To Kill For' which was first published in 1993.

Other films in which I am ridiculously excited for this year are The Hangover 3, Fast & Furious 6 (I literally cannot stop watching the trailor) and of course, one of the most highly anticipated films since the start of film itself ... Anchorman 2!

Gaming

PS4/XBOX 720 - There has been so much speculation over what both the PS4 and XBOX 720 consoles will look like and what new features they will have. I am so excited to see what Sony and Microsoft have done with these consoles and depending on graphics , how the console looks and of course the price I shall be purchasing one of them without a doubt!

The Sims 3: University Life - I am a HUGE Sims fan and it is hard to peel me away from the game. That said I am very rarely excited about the expansion packs and especially the more recent ones. The Pets expansion pack didn't thrill me that much as I know in the Sims 2: Unleashed the pets just kind of got in the way, the same with the Supernatural release earlier this year, in the Sims 2: Makin' Magic it didn't actually benefit me that much. When I heard about this particular expansion pack it didn't really have me interested ... that was until I saw some gameplays on YouTube and now I have decided I just HAVE to have it as soon as it is released!

Technology

Technology releases are always a bit all over the place when it comes to rumours, speculation and chinese whispers. I have however decided to share some things which I have heard are to be released this year which does get me a little excited.

Bendy Screen Smartphone - Yes you read correct, apparently the giants at Samsung are to release a smartphone with a bendy screen. This is the most genius amount of technology I have ever heard of as I am forever worrying that my Iphone screen will smash when dropped.

Fujitsu Lifebook - Nope this isn't some weird and wonderful Facebook equivalent sent to the world wide web to rival it, no, no, this is a tablet, laptop, digital camera and phone all rolled into one! The idea is that the camera on the laptop pops out and you can use it as a hand held, the laptop monitor transforms into a tablet etc etc. I can understand the idea and I suppose I do live with the idea that it is better to keep everything in one place where possible, but is this taking modern techlogy one step too far?

What are you most looking forward to this year?

Endometriosis Awareness Month #2- Treatment and Help ...

Ok, so now we know what Endometriosis is and what the symptoms are the next question is ... How is it treated? and Am I on my own?

There are various forms of treatment for Endometriosis and how it is treated can vary depending on your age and personal circumstance.

The first stages of treatment is to try the contraceptive pill, most people I have spoken to have been put on Cilest. Women who are being investigated for Endometriosis will more than likely be recommended to try taking this pill before any further investigations are made. The only way to 100% diagnose the condition is by having a laparoscapy otherwise known as keyhole surgery. It is at this point where you can have the adhesions lasered off.

Other treatments include having the Marina coil fitted, hormone altering tablets and in extreme cases found in more mature women a histerectomy. Some women have found that when they have become pregnant it has appeared to cure their Endometriosis and while some doctors may recommend it, having a baby has not been proven to be a cure.

There is such thing as the Endometriosis diet and while this also has not been proven to cure the condition, in some cases it has eased the pain and nausea for some women.

One thing women suffering from Endometriosis need to realise is that you are not alone. Everyone feels like this at first and it is perfectly normal as it is a difficult thing to get your head around. There is so many ways you can get help and support from other women who know what it feel like.

Here in the UK you can go to Endometriosis UK where you will find an online message board and also information about local groups you can attend.

If you are in the USA you can go to Endo-Online where you can find information about local groups where you are.

One of the great things about modern technology is that you can Google search anything and it will provide you with what you are looking for. So no matter where you are in the world, you will be able to find a local group or online support group so you're not on your own.

If you suffer from Endometriosis just remember two things,

1) You are not on your own
2) DON'T TAKE IT LYING DOWN!

Need Some Inspiration? ...

With so many social media sites out there and ways of interacting with different people it is hard to escape quotes and inspirational sayings which have been transformed into artsy pictures.

"It is easier to be wise for others than for ourselves". Francois De Le Rochefoucauld

One quote that has helped me greatly over the past couple of months is this ...

WHEN WE ARE AT OUR LOWEST POINT, WE ARE OPEN TO LIFES GREATEST CHANGE

This was so relevant to my life when I first saw it and instantly I started to see my mood/life as a positive thing and I have embraced everything that happened from then up until now. As well as my relationship breaking down, my health hasn't been fantastic at the moment and I wan't feeling my best but straight away after reading these few words I felt better about life.

:)

Sites like Instagram and Pinterest are riddled with these sorts of pictures and all you have to do search for the word 'quotes' in the search box and both sites throw up thousands! My question to you is ... Do they actually help? Do you look at those pictures and instantly decide you are going to make a great change in your life?

today

On Pinterest I did a search and it took me to the page of Karen Webb Photography who has a whole board dedicated to these inspirational and uplifting quotes. There are so many more boards on Pinterest which focus on these and there are sites where you can buy framed prints with certain quotes on.

I never thought that seeing a few words on a Google image search could actually change my outlook on life. It may sound very extreme me saying that but it is true. If I hadn't have seen that quote I may still now be in that dark place and I might not have used this blog as a release!

So next time you see one of these images pop up on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest don't ignore it, have a look and you never know, it may change your life!

Endometriosis Awareness Month #1 - What Is Endometriosis? ...

The month of March is Endometriosis Awareness Month.
In ode to this I have decided to run 3 posts giving you more information on it and I am hoping to raise more awareness of it as I suffer from this myself.

Some of you may have heard of the condition before and know all about it, others may not have heard of it or know little about it which is why I have decided to do as much as I can in my posts this week.

So what is Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a condition where the same cells as those in the lining of our womb are found elsewhere in the body. These cells break down every month just the same as those in the womb. This internal bleeding, not like a period, has no way of leaving the body and therefore it can cause inflammation, pain and it can form scar tissue.

It is commonly found inside the pelvis, around the ovaries and on the outside of the womb. In extremely rare cases it has been found in other parts of the body such as the eyes, the spine and the lungs.

Endometriosis approximately 1.5 million women in the UK alone. It can impact your life in so many ways which include:

  • Chronic Pain
  • Tiredness/No Energy
  • Depression
  • Inability to conceive

There is no obvious cause for Endometriosis, many theories are around but none have been proven to be the root cause. Symptons can include painful periods, painful sex or pain after sex, infertility and tiredness. The amount of Endometriosis you have does not necessarily go in conjunction with the amount of pain you have as you can suffer the greatest amount of pain but only have a minimal amount of Endometriosis and vice versa.

I hope now you have a better understanding of the condition and what it means. My next post for Endometriosis Awareness Month will be all about how the condition is treated and where you can find help.

If you suffer from Endometriosis just remember two things,

1) You are not on your own
2) DON'T TAKE IT LYING DOWN!

Skinny Minnie Monday #2 ...

It is that time of the week again where I share with you how my weight loss is going and that all important amount of weight loss.

This week I have a confession ... I have failed you all and myself. I have had a bit of a tough week and well the whole healthy eating lark has well and truly gone out the window!
The majority of what I have eaten has been correct for the Slimming World plan, I would say I have been a little more relaxed than I should.

As you may have read in a previous post, one change I have made and stuck to for the most part is that I am only drinking water and green tea (when alcohol isn't involved that is)! This is going really well and although I have't noticed a great difference from doing this, I am hoping I will start to feel somewhat cleansed and detoxed soon enough.

Overall I think I am going to strike this week off as an overall bad week and really get my arse in to gear. I am planning on sticking to my water and green tea and I am also going to start doing the 30 Day Shred as I have heard so many good things about it.

Now time for the vital stats :

Starting Weight: 186 lbs

Goal Weight: 140 lbs

Current Weight: 183 lbs

Weight Loss This Week: 0 lbs

Total Weight Lost: 3 lbs

So there we have it guys, no weight loss but in the same breath no weight gain which I suppose can only be a good thing. Here is to a great week and I shall see you next week for Skinny Minnie Mondays!!
